Terms of Use — Countia

Welcome to Countia. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Countia’s developer (“we”, “us”, “our”) governing your use of the Countia mobile app (“App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use Countia

Countia is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under the age required by your country’s laws to agree to these Terms on your own, please use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. What Countia does

Countia lets you track countdowns and count-ups for dates that matter to you — exams, holidays, and any custom day you add. Depending on your selected country, the App can suggest ready-made templates for common dates.

3. Your content

Everything you add to Countia (custom days, titles, dates, colors) belongs to you. It is stored on your device — see our Privacy Policy for details on what does and does not leave your device.

4. Template content

The ready-made date templates (exams, holidays, cultural and religious observances) are downloaded from our remote content service so they can be kept accurate without requiring an app update. This request does not include any personal or device-identifying information. If you are offline, the App uses a bundled copy of this content, which may be less current.

We make reasonable efforts to keep dates accurate and sourced from official or reliable public information, but dates — especially ones not yet officially announced by the relevant institution — may be estimates. Always confirm exam and holiday dates through official sources before making important decisions.

5. Advertising

Countia is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising network. Ads do not appear while you are adding or editing your days. See Section 3 of our Privacy Policy and Google’s AdMob policy for details on how AdMob operates.

6. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Countia offers an optional yearly subscription that removes ads. Additional in-app purchase options (such as a one-time “Lifetime” ad removal) may be added in the future.

  • Price and billing: The price is shown in the App and in the App Store / Google Play product listing before you buy. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • Managing and cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling does not affect the current, already-paid period — access continues until it ends.
  • No refunds from us: Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their own policies; we do not process payments or refunds directly.
  • Apple users: If you purchase through the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) applies in addition to these Terms: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App beyond what applicable law permits;
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable law;
  • Attempt to interfere with the template content service or advertising service.

8. No warranty

The App is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that template dates will always be accurate or available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including reliance on template dates that turn out to be inaccurate or outdated.

10. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or discontinue the App or any of its features (including the template content service or advertising) at our discretion.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.
